Muslims React to Cartoons With Calls For Beheadings and Butchering

So this is how the Muslim community expresses their supposed outrage over satirical cartoons published in newspapers? To say that I am offended that they resort to threats such as 'beheading' and 'butchering' anyone they perceive has insulted islam is an understatement. How many years have Christians endured continual mocking and ridicule from the progressive left, including those in Hollywood? If Christians said that they would slaughter anybody they perceive has insulted Christianity, they would be thrown in jail faster that you can say Al Frankin.

I will not be intimidated by these thugs! In the name of Free Speech, every blogger of every political strip should post a Muhammad cartoon:

Comments:
Hell they even made a comedy drama about Jesus walking around talking to this guy in a cheap suit. I don't see any embassies burning or reporters gettin beat up. For some reason this religion, Islam, has got out of control. After viewing all this chaos how could you not be racist? I have tried many times to accept the fact that Islam is a peaceful religion. Well its like the only religion in the world right now that say kill all the Jews and Christians. Well what can we do to stop this? Leave Iraq and Saudi Arabia?? stop supporting Israel??? even if we did all of these all those bastards are going to land in this country and try to make us leave America. Its time we bring this to an end. Its time we go out and control this faith. God Bless America.

It's unfortunate that so many Muslims i nthe middle east use religion to justify their hatred and contempt for all things Western. These people truely do not understand 'freedom' for all that it is. They are obviously not taught tolerance for other religions / beliefs / etc. As a Christian, am I offended when someone says something contrary to my beliefs? Absolutely - without a doubt. But I WILL NOT, CANNOT force others to believe the way I do, just as much as I would not want them to force me to believe the way they do. I can express my distain for someone's mockery of my religion, boycot their products, etc, etc. But in a 'free' and lawful society, I will not resort to violence, or the THREAT of violence, to express how I feel - no matter how offended.
When I see the mass of individuals protesting with regard to the cartoon, yes, CARTOON of their religious figure, the very first thing that comes to my mind is: GROW UP. Your nation will never get ANYWHERE if you don't learn tolerance, and the rule of law. If people will torch an embassy over a drawing, how can they ever get along with other nations, or people of other beliefs?
In reading the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin it really hammered home in my mind just how important tolerance for other religious beliefs is, and how important it is to keep it out of government and the laws that are passed. A considerable amount of time and energy was put into drafting the US constitution, and the US wouldn't be what it is today without it. While FAR from perfect, that system of government prevents our leaders from imposing thier beliefs on us, and directs us to not torch a foreign government embassy and behead those whose beliefs differ from our own.

Do I have less respect for the Muslim RELIGION as a result of their reactions in this situation? NO. I honestly believe Islam to be a religion of peace. This reaction is a symptom of a much larger problem: A leadership failure in the Muslim community in the middle east - Jihad whenever they are offended by something. Making their HATRED in the name of a religion. I saw a video clip on the news last night of a single Muslim cleric in the throng of protesters, physically throwing people back - away from the embassy. Unfortunately, he is one voice amongst hundreds of thousands.

Do I have less respect for the Muslim INDIVIDUALS as a result of their reactions? ABSOLUTELY! This is bad behavior any way you look at it - on a massive scale.

I will admit - I'm having a very hard time with their reactions in this case. It's hard for me, because I really do attempt to be tolerant of other's beliefs and opinions. But this call for mass murder, kidnaping, toture and murder must STOP. A part of me thinks "hey, Bush had it all right after all. Those people are CRAZY! Perhaps it would be easier to nuke the entire region". But if I allow myself to think along those lines, and I really any better than those rioters? Really? What makes ME different than them? Why should I condone racism or call for death when they offend ME?

Honsetly, the Muslim leadership in the area needs to begin preaching TOLERANCE, RESPECT, and the ability to turn the other cheek when you are insulted by something someone else does...

ALL religion is out of control.
how i see it - everyone is taking this bullshit TOO FAR.
if everyone concentrated on how to live - rather than preach a bunch of nonsense contradictory fairy tales to us all and continue the "my god is better than your god" pisssing contest that has been going on since the dawn of time, perhaps we would start seeing the results in society we actually WANT TO SEE.
You know what religion has gotten out of control? Christianity.
Muslim. Catholic. - all of them.
Believe in whatever god you want - but here are two principles everyone should live by - and you don't have to speak in tongues or have a full-body baptism to do it:
A) Respect each other.
B) Quit being an asshole.
